Outpatient Licensed Therapist

The Outpatient Licensed Therapist provides confidential counseling and support to individuals with substance use disorder and their families. Substance abuse counseling will take place in a group and individual settings with the goal of encouraging a healthy lifestyle throughout recovery. The Outpatient Licensed Therapist is also expected to work with community services and resources to find ongoing support, safe places to live, and employment opportunities for clients.

Reports To: Chris’ Corner Director

Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Provide drug and alcohol counseling and support to individual clients and their families.

  • Help clients discover the underlying cause of their substance use disorder.

  • Understand and advise clients on how drugs or alcohol affect special health considerations such as pregnancy, mental health conditions, or chronic health issues like diabetes or high blood pressure.

  • Stay informed and in touch with community resources and support groups.

  • Provide program information, materials, and resources.

  • Educate family, friends, and caregivers on how to help clients stay on track.

  • Work with other health professionals to create an individual treatment plan.

  • Evaluate the effectiveness of treatment programs.

  • Monitor client progress.

  • Keep detailed notes on patient interaction.

  • Maintain strict confidentiality.

  • Implement and maintain the Integrated Behavioral Health program philosophy, principles, and procedures in all facets of performance.

  • Provide services and conduct self in a manner consistent with the professional Code of Ethics.

  • Provide clinically appropriate treatment based on mental health assessment and treatment plans.

  • Complete timely and accurate documentation.

  • Fully participate in staff development opportunities to enhance professional growth, especially to maintain license, certification, or identified program performance skills.

  • Participate in planned supervision and case consultation conferences.

Scheduled Hours: 20 hours per week (Flexible/ Hybrid)

Qualifications:

  • LCSW, LICSW, or LMHC is required

  • Master's degree in Mental Health, Counseling, Social Work, or Psychology with a minimum of two years' experience.

  • Massachusetts licensure is required.

  • Insurance credentialed is preferred.

  • Support the organization's mission along with sensitivity of cultural and workplace harmony.

  • Must have strong planning, time management, and organizational skills.

  • Demonstrated ability to manage work processes with strong computer skills for documentation purposes.

  • Ability to maintain confidential information within HIPAA guidelines and organizational policies.

  • Ability to be flexible especially with scheduling and to perform and prioritize multiple functions and tasks.

  • Ability to successfully and professionally communicate.

  • Bilingual or multilingual preferred.
